Shipping Notes: This item will be shipped only to the United States. I have several other vintage rifle scopes, including another Alaskan, listed on eBay here. Note that in the closeup photos of both ends, the lighting washed out the bluing. No lens lamination is apparent, assuming that this model is subject to that. The reticle is the highly desirable tapered post, the so-called sniper reticle. There are very light ring marks and the anodization is fading in one area. The condition of this scope is very good with a few scratches, handling marks and wear. This scope also has Redfield Junior rings, which are appropriate for this model. It has the original-design exposed adjustments for elevation and windage, an anodized aluminum tube and a steel ocular housing with brass retaining ring. Being a prewar model, this would be seem to be quite appropriate for use on a 1903A3 or other WWII rifle restoration project. Based on information that production started in 1939, this would almost certainly make this 1939 production. The serial number 165 is stamped in very small numbers. This auction is for an early production Lyman Alaskan 2.5X rifle scope. Item: 143036204356 Lyman Alaskan Rifle Scope, PreWar.
